Overview of the year
During the pandemic situation, we have treated about 500 patients and children in and outside our centre through various programmes and activities. This year too we have we have emphasized on reaching out to various sections of the society and providing both health and medical facilities apart from creating awareness amongst them.
Besides medical and health facilities, attempts were also made through activities like life-skill workshops, residential workshops talent events, rallies and camps. Activities of parents meeting with therapist and consultants were organized to empower them and their community members to seek their involvement in the treatment of their child.
Consultation workshop organized this year were an important forum for sharing and spreading awareness amongst various sections of the society including the parents and relatives of the differently able children, special schools, NGOs and other organizations.
Celebration of world physiotherapy Day. On the occasion of World Physiotherapy day, workshop and debates were held at the center.
This year, both print media and electronic media including radio programs gave a wider visibility about the various activities of Anchal in different fields apart from child rehabilitation.
Painting and handicraft competitions amongst the special children are held on occasions like Christmas, bihu (Assam harvest festival) and on other special occasions.
Children get to visit many places of interest and education which enhances their awareness and learn new things.
free treatment for children from BPL section of the society are provided for in our centre at Guwahati and Barpeta.
We have worked together with the Guwahati Traffic police and Prodigy Communication for Road safety campaign under the motto “Alert Today, Alive Tomorrow”, wherein the president of ANCHAL, Mr. Diganta Das was appointed as the Brand Ambassador.
Physiotherapy camp for sports persons at SAI stadium, Guwahati in collaboration with Sports Authority of India under the motto “Physiotherapy for fit India” was held. More than 100 sports persons from various clubs and academy were treated in the said camp by an expert team of sports physiotherapist.
Free assessment and Physiotherapy camp was held for Journalist wherein journalist from both print and electronic media were treated for back pain, knee pain, shoulder pain, stroke and spinal injury.
To create awareness on road safety and protection of Rhino, ANCHAL have been organizing a car rally in Time-Speed-Distance format since 2018. The second edition was a huge success as total 40 teams participated in the event and out of which 6 teams were from Delhi, Kolkata, Allahabad and Coimbatore. The Northeast TSD car rally was flagged of by the Hon’ble Minister of Transport, Sjt. Chandra Mohan Patowary from Guwahati Nehru Stadium which concluded at Kaziranga National Park.
ACHAL celebrates the Anniversary of our centre DPRC on 8th of July every year, wherein we encourage the special children to showcase their talents in dancing, singing, recitation and other activities. On the aforesaid day, awards are also given to people providing service towards various section of the society, irrespective of cast, creed, community, religion or language.
Free pick up and dropping facilities are provided for differently able children within Guwahati.
Since its establishment in 2013, ANCHAL has been engaged in rehabilitation of the differently able children. It has been regularly organizing free treatment and awareness camps for these special section of people in the society. We have treated for free over more than hundreds of special children through our centre, namely DCRS. Training physiotherapist to make them realize the psychology of the differently able people is also a part of our regular programme. Ours is one of its only kind of centre which consist of a expert team of early interventionist, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist, special educator and psychologist working together under one roof.
